What’s so bad about a little white lie? Our society has been teaching that the end justifies the means; That lying is ok as long as you don’t get caught; That truth is appropriate if it is convenient or to your advantage, otherwise a little white lie is just as good; That the values of truth and honesty are not essentially better than fabrication or lies. When the foundation is crumbling the edifice is about ready to fall.

A Prayer Meeting Like No Other

So How’s your prayer life? Been praying lately? When was the last time you went to a prayer meeting where the rafters were shaking? In fact when was the last time you had prayer and left shaking? There is a whole dimension of prayer most of us know little or nothing about. We have been content to recite the “now I lay me down to sleep” type prayers when God wants to wake us up and empower us with his presence.

A Message Meant to Offend

Sometimes God comforts the afflicted, and sometimes he afflicts the comforted! Sometimes it is necessary for God to prick our conscience in order to wake us up. In fact the Holy Spirit has a ministry called His “convicting” work which is meant to produce personal anguish that results in positive change. But, should we take it upon ourselves to help the Holy Spirit convict others?
