Today, if you hear God’s voice, listen with a soft, pliable heart. Jonathon Edwards used to say that when he went out to preach he did so with two propositions in mind. “First, everyone ought to give his life to Christ. Second, whether or not anyone gives Him his life, I will give Him mine.” That’s a good rule to follow whenever the Word of God is preached – allow the Holy Spirit to convict and then respond appropriately. That was the secret of Peter’s sermon in Acts 2 which produced an Evangelism Explosion.
