Man’s entire existence is but a prelude to that earth-shattering meeting we will surely have with God? There are several prominent self-help programs that urge those in need to turn their lives over to the care of God, whatever you understand God to be. Turning to God is a very good idea, but what if your understanding of God doesn’t resemble what God is like in reality? God has told us what he is like, and I’m sure that any other impression is an insult to him. Let’s discover, from God’s own Word what he’s like.

In 1 Timothy 6:6 Paul strikes at the heart of our money problems – we lack contentment. We want a little more. And the desire for wealth, possessions and toys leads us into temptation… the temptation to spend irresponsibly; the temptation to fall for get rich quick schemes; the temptation to think that society should pay our way… without godly contentment, sooner or later we come to financial ruin.
