God is not interested in how rich, powerful or influential you are. God is interested in your heart. He is looking for worshipers who worship him in spirit and truth. Jesus told the woman at the well, “if you wish to have your life revitalized with living waters, you must receive the gift of eternal life. Jesus didn’t mind that this woman was one of the outcasts of society, in fact he pursued here even though he knew every sordid detail of her past. And God is pursuing you as well. He is inviting you into his kingdom.

You Must Be Born Again

John 3:1-21

Jesus had just cleansed the temple. The Sadducee Priests would have been incensed, because this was a direct strike against them and their power and wealth. The Pharisees were probably somewhat more receptive to what Jesus had done. Jesus was new to the Jewish scene and they were curious. Perhaps Nicodemus was sent by the Pharisees to find out more about this new teacher. If Jesus was the Messiah, and was going to bring the coming Kingdom, they wanted to know about it. Nicodemus was about to get more than he bargained for.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

It is somewhat surprising that the temple courts had deteriorated into a cattle market. For thousands of years, the Temple has been the most sacred of holy places to the Jew. For centuries the Jews have prayed with their faces turned toward the site of the temple in Jerusalem. The Jews were very zealous over their temple. Jesus was even more so consumed with love for His Father’s House. Today Pastor Dennis will bring a message from John 2 called “Jesus: Cleansing the Temple.”
