12 "Know Fear"
(14 downloads)Download this episode (25 min)
Are you afraid of death or dying? When is fear appropriate? Our feelings are not always good reflections of reality. Sometimes we experience extreme anxiety when there is nothing to fear at all. Other times we walk merrily along with nary a care, not knowing that disaster about to strike. So what is there to fear about the afterlife? If you don’t know Jesus there is much to fear. And if you do know Jesus you should be very concerned about those who don’t.

Overcoming your fears, Sharing your Faith
Do you stink at evangelism? Maybe one of your fears is that you are a failure to God’s kingdom. What’s the point you might ask? I’m no good at it. I can’t communicate well. I feel like a fool and a failure when I try. No one ever trusts Christ when I share the Gospel. I feel pressure, pressure, pressure to speak up and it’s never effective... The good news is this: Evangelism is a team sport, not a solo event. By ourselves we are much more susceptible to letdown, but as a team, we can encourage each other to go on to success.

How good are you really? If you were to die today, do you know for certain, whether or not you would go to Heaven? This is one of the big questions of life. This is why God left the church on earth. It is our mission to know how to obtain eternal life and it is our mission to communicate this good news effectively so that no one has to be left behind. But the church has not always done a good job communicating the most important news in the world. Today we will share a simple tool on how to do that.

does the thought of extending an invitation bring fear to your heart. If you fear rejection, you are not alone. According to research, most Americans have never been invited to church—never, ever. Sometimes our invitation is accepted. Other times it is not. But we never know who may really be searching and responsive. Sometimes those we least expect will become the most devoted followers of Christ. So don’t give up. Try it again, and again.

Overcoming your fear, sharing your faith
The number one fear of Americans is public speaking or the fear of oral communication. About 1 out of every 5 of us have a serious struggle when it comes to talking to people. It causes anxiety, conflict, and pushes us out of our comfort zone… We don’t want to look foolish… It is no wonder that when we Christians are confronted by the Great Commission, most of us experience guilt. And it is no wonder, that when ask people to share their faith, they respond in debilitating communication apprehension.

Sharing your faith without fear
the number one fear of Americans is the fear of speaking in public. Most people are afraid of talking to groups of people, large or small, and a great majority of us are painfully uncomfortable talking to individuals, especially strangers. That’s why making friends and building relationships is so difficult for us. And that is precisely why sharing our faith ranks so high in the fear factor scale. We are afraid of what people might think of us. We don’t want them to think we are stupid. We don’t feel well versed enough in our faith to bring it up. In this new series of messages, Pastor Dennis aims to conquer your fears so that you can be an effective witness.

Today we tackle another knotty question. What should the Christian think of genetic engineering? Technology has created a whole new series of ethical issues. There is no longer a question of can it be done, it is only a question of should it be done?

Would it be more merciful to let them die? Or should we do everything in our power to keep them alive? What if a person with an incurable disease is being kept alive only by a machine? Is it humane to pull the plug? And should I have the right to end my life whenever I choose?

Today we are facing the ethical question of Abortion. We’ll try to answer some of the following questions: Should abortion be legal? Should it be widely available for anyone who wants it? Or, should it be limited to only certain “hardship” cases? Does it matter how far along a mother is: first second or third trimester? Is a fetus a human being? If it is not, when does it become one? If it is, is it a human from the moment of conception or some other time? Is it right or is it wrong to get an abortion?
